About once a year for the last six or seven years, if I don’t forget, I do a little thing where I imagine what the current “average” executive at Apple might look like.
The process is pretty rudimentary and imprecise: I grab the photo from each executive’s profile page and toss them all into an app like Photoshop or Sketch. Next, I rotate and resize each photo so that the pupils are all aligned. Finally, I set blending to Multiply and opacity to
100% / n (where
n is the number of photos in the composite).

I find it equal parts fascinating and disheartening that year after year, even as individuals come and go, the result looks like the same white guy aging over time.
